You saved yourself from that suicide not them

Let me just admit one thing. I used to say all the time that Slipknot "saved" (yes, I am using that term loosely) my life because their music helped me live on through my rough times with chronicle depression and certain personal events dealing with my *cough*asshole*cough* father. Then, I grew up.

I might as well use Black Veil Brides as a background since I see the whole "saves lives" thing the most from their fans other than My Chemical Romance (who are a shit band that aren't even together anymore).

What made me want to make this stamp is when I finished watching this documentary about Mitch Lucker (drunk driver) after Mitch's sister said something along the lines of "all the lives he saved", I couldn't resist but to roll my eyes, and at the near end, his mother and some dude were talking about how many lives Mitch "saved" and all that shit with his music is when I can't really take this documentary all that seriously. How in the living fuck do songs with lyrics such as this and this managed to save lives is my question. Hell I even seen people saying that Blood On The Dance Floor, of all people, "saves" lives. You people can't be fucking serious now, are you? :iconyoukiddingmeplz:

I mean, I can understand if a band's music help you motivate into moving on with your life, and not resort to something as in self harm or suicide, but there is a difference between motivation to make a right choice, and saving someone's life. If bands actually do save lives then where were they when I'm going through a self harm addiction that I'm trying to quit like forever now? Where were they during my two suicide attempts? I can tell you where. They weren't anywhere near my presence at all. Slipknot wasn't there when these things happened to me, and never was Korn, Sevendust, etc. They were either touring, or in studio making a new album. Them saving my life would be something as in trying to grab the razor blade or container of pills out of my hands before I take action, but they didn't do any of that.

So call me when that band actually saved your life as I explained. If not, then I'm going to call bullshit and not take you seriously at all. In other words, you saved yourself by making the decision to move on with your life and not resort to the bad decision as in suicide, etc. By the way, didn't Chris Motionless wrote a blog ranting about this whole "bands saves lives" bullshit on Tumblr? Oh yeah, right fucking here. I don't really care for Motionless In White, but goddamn I gained so much respect for Chris after that, because that was needed to be said for YEARS.

PS: Suicide Silence sucks
